Cotton stakeholders’ meeting postponed for lack of latest crop data

The next stakeholders’ meeting underneath the aegis of Government of India’s Committee on Cotton Production and Usage (COCPC) has been postponed owing to lack of availability of hottest crop knowledge, a discover from the Textile Commissioner’s workplace stated.
The second meeting of stakeholders was scheduled for February 10 as was informed in an official notice issued on January 28.
Citing non-availability of most recent advance estimate on cotton output for the present-day time 2021-22, the Textile Commissioner’s Office environment decided to postpone the cotton stakeholders meeting, which incorporates trade representatives, exporters, ginners and governing administration officials.
The postponement observe issued on Wednesday informed that the “Second assembly of the stakeholders for the cotton season 2021 – 22, fixed on 10. 02.2022 has been postponed due to non-availability of the hottest advance estimate on Cotton Production for the current cotton year 2021-22 from Directorate of Cotton Growth (DCD), Ministry of Agriculture, Nagpur.”
The next day of conference would be intimated on receipt of the data from DCD, the Textile Commissioner’s notice stated.
Committee on Cotton Output and Consumption (COCPC) has replaced the erstwhile Cotton Advisory Board (Cab) to evaluate the cotton crop and trade situation in the state.
