Former president of Areca Growers’ Association passes away

Manchi Srinivasa Achar (seventy four), fast previous-president of All-India Areca Growers’ Affiliation (AIAGA), handed away on Saturday. He is survived by his spouse, son and daughter.

A native of Manchi village in Bantwal taluk of Dakshina Kannada district, Achar was also the editor and publisher of the farm-every month Adike Patrike. He was the president of Farmer To start with Believe in. The believe in has been publishing Adike Patrike because 3 decades.

Condoling his loss of life, the AIAGA president Kinila Ashok and the Normal Secretary Mahesh Puchchappady claimed that Achar was lively in the works relevant to welfare of arecanut sector. He also took lively portion in the agri-machinery good at Puttur in Dakshina Kannada district two decades in the past.

SR Satishchandra, president of Campco (Central Arecanut and Cocoa Advertising and marketing and Processing Cooperative) Ltd, claimed that Achar, who had engineering qualifications, had contributed immensely for arecanut sector as very well. His contributions in organising agri machinery good at Puttur and training programmes in arecanut tree climbing are noteworthy, he claimed.

Achar was a trustee of ARDF (Arecanut Study and Growth Foundation) and an lively member of Campco also, he claimed.
