State Department Names Five Chinese Media Outlets as Foreign Diplomatic Missions in U.S.

WASHINGTON—The Trump administration is heightening scrutiny of China’s massive point out-owned media retailers in the U.S., designating them as foreign diplomatic missions, in a even further effort and hard work to rein in Chinese govt activity.

The Point out Office said Tuesday that the U.S. functions of five Chinese news organizations—Xinhua News Company, China Radio Global, China International Television Network and the distributors of China Daily and People’s Daily—will be viewed as foreign diplomatic missions.
